The crash took place on Route 22 in Dutchess County on Sunday, Sept. 4 in the town of Dover near Kitchen Corners Road.
An investigation determined Rodney J. Clark, of New York City, was driving a 2016 BMW motorcycle southbound with one passenger when he attempted to pass two vehicles simultaneously in a passing zone and struck the lead vehicle which was making a lefthand turn to exit Route 22, said Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police.
Despite life-saving techniques employed by the responding trooper, Clark was pronounced dead at the scene by arriving paramedics.
No other injuries were reported.
The investigation remains ongoing.
